While the Attack and Barrie Colts gear up for a showdown of OHL Conference leaders tonight at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre, we’ve also got a sequence of big games in curling tonight and ahead this week.
First of all, the Chesley-Tara Mutual Insurance Major League has games tonight at Owen Sound Blue Water and at Kincardine.
The Ram Promotional rink skipped by Al Hutchinson has sole possession of first place at 3 & 0 and they’ll face Tara’s Scott Ballantyne tonight at Blue Water.
Also at Blue Water tonight, the Absalute Automotive rink skipped by Don Bartley goes against Joey Rettinger of Market Place Magazine.
Bartley’s foursome is 2 & 0.
The other undefeated rinks are at Kincardine tonight
Paisley’s Steve Gregg for Merit Insurance at 1 & 0 meets Port Elgin’s Dave Cobean while the Dance Sound skipped by Curtis Cassidy at 2 & 0 will meet Brent Keeling from Owen Sound.
Keeling is also among the movers and shakers for the Co-operators Cup this weekend.
The second annual cashspiel at the Markdale Curling Club begins Friday afternoon at 5 pm with 20 rinks battling for top prize with Championship Final Sunday afternoon at 3 pm.
The Attack and Colts OHL game tonight is a big one, no question.
But with Major League Curling, the Co-operators Cup at Markdale and the Dominion Tankard Zone playdowns all ahead, there’s plenty of big games in curling too.
