The U-S election is only days away, but a Grand Bend businessman has expressed his support of Republican candidate Mitt Romney.
Owner of Coco’s Bar and Grill Mick Rapport threw his support behind Romney because of the Republican’s ties with the local area.
Mitt Romney’s father — George Romney — purchased a lakefront cottage in 1950 near Grand Bend.
Rapport tells Bayshore Broadcasting News Romney’s election would mean big bucks for Ontario’s West Coast.
He believes the Romney’s would likely visit the lakefront estate for vacations, which would inspire many others to also visit the area.
Rapport’s support for Romney’s election is so strong, he even held a summer fundraiser for Romney’s campaign.
He was able to raise 67-dollars, which he says he’ll leave in the mailbox at the Romney’s cottage.
The Mick-4-Mitt campaign will be included in Season 2 of the documentary soap-opera “Grand Benders” — which looks at Rapport’s eccentric life in Grand Bend.
