Owen Sound Police are asking for your help after Grey Bruce Health Services reported the loss of powerful painkilling medicine.
City Police tell us the hospital is missing two bottles of Hydromorph Contin — a potent pain relief narcotic used by cancer patients.
Police say the loss happened sometime between September 27th and October 4th from the hospital pharmacy.
The hospital believes the narcotic may have been inadvertently discarded within the hospital and subsequently destroyed.
However, Police are warning the public that if the capsules are discovered and ingested, there are serious potential health risks.
Each of the 2 bottles were unopened and contained 60 capsules per bottle.
The capsules are orange in colour and are all stamped with Hydromorph Contin – 12 mg.
If you found the pills or have any information regarding the missing bottles you are asked to call Owen Sound Police Services at (519) 376-1234.
