The community can get a look at the new school in Walkerton today.
The 20 million dollar Walkerton District Community School merges two former elementary schools and one high school under one roof.
Classrooms will be open Wednesday from 5:30 PM to 6 PM, and the school is open to anyone from the community who would like to take a look at the facility.
The classrooms feature new technology like smart boards and computers, and the school has been selected to pilot iPads in Kindergarten and Intermediate Mathematics.
A Welcome Back barbeque goes from 5 PM until 8 PM, and it’s a good chance for parents of students to meet the teachers.
The JK to Grade 12 school has about 800 students.
