Ken Martin (Chesley) and Pat Smith (Hanover) played Open Pairs in Lucknow on Tuesday September 11 winning all three of their games against two Lucknow teams and one Hanover team (Doug McCorry and Jim Spence).
On Saturday September 15 in Walkerton,Ken Martin (Chesley) and Irmgard Kossits (Hanover) won all three of their games placing first overall. They played Helen Kelley and Gail Wiseman (Mount Forest) to win 18-5 going on to defeat Chesley’s Steve and Barb Schuknecht 9-7 while swamping Bill Lehman and Wayne Albright 14-5.
Eric and Sandy Weatherall won two of their games (39 +1) to place 3rd in an the same event. They lost to Joan Greirson and Elaine Watson (Meaford) 11-8 and in the second game beat Helen Kelley and Gail Wiseman (Mount Forest) 19-8. They also competed against (Hanover) Pat Kaufmann and Claudette MacFarlane winning 13-8 bringing their total to 39 overplus1.
Steve and Barb Schuknecht (Chesley) had one win and 37 overplus 3.
The Chesley Lawn Bowling Club held its annual Krug and Buckley Trophy Tournament where ten men and ten women came out to compete in three twelve-end games of Singles. Ken Martin won with 40 points while Scott Barfoot was a close 39. Sandy Weatherall placed first for the Ladies. A light lunch was enjoyed by all.
