Jason Crone is on the go again.
Recently seen coaching a Ladies Slo Pitch team in the area, Crone returns to a more familiar competitive zone as he departs this week from Owen Sound for Leeds, England.
A member of Canada’s National Wheelchair Rugby team, Crone will compete at his second Paralympic Games in England beginning September 5th.
Four years ago, Crone made his Paralympic Games debut in Beijing and as such he’ll be one of many veterans on the Canadian entry seeking Gold at the games.
The Canadian team will be well prepared and highly motivated for the Games, especially with the memory of the 2012 Canada Cup relatively fresh.
The Canada Cup Wheelchair Rugby Tournament illustrated fully how competitive the sport is and how countries that previously may have been after thoughts are now capable of pulling the upset.
Furthermore, after losing the Gold medal final to the United States at the Canada Cup, Crone and his teammates have the tremendous motivation heading to Great Britain.
Silver doesn’t suck, but losing to the Americans in this sport always has.
The 2012 Paralympic Wheelchair Rugby Championship begins September 5th with Jason Crone & Team Canada meeting Australia in Group B, aiming to advance to the Gold Medal Final September 9th
