Wood workers will gather in Durham on Friday and Saturday for the ninth annual Welbeck Wood Expo.
Welbeck Sawmill Co-owner Steve Kraus says it’s been a successful and popular wood show over the past nine years.
He believes it’s because there is a large amount of people in Grey-Bruce and just south of us that take an interest in wood working, either as a profession or as a hobby.
Kraus adds being able to host the expo right at the Welbeck site gives them some advantages over other wood shows.
Kraus says if people want to come out and try out the latest tools, there is no admission fee and they can come see and try things for free.
Kraus says there will be more than just wood working at the show — they have vendor displays with wrought iron works, stained glass, small crafts and kitchen utensils.
There is even a kids’ area with games and toys, as well as food booths, shingle mill tours, and live entertainment.
The day is also broken into different seminars.
The wood expo runs from 9 AM until 5 PM both days at Welbeck Sawmill on Welbeck Road in West Grey.
