An Owen Sound pharmacy is expanding.
Jim Turbitt has owned a pharmacy in the Medical Arts Building on Alpha Street for the past 20 years.
But now, Turbitt has decided to join the Pharmasave company, and open a bigger location at the corner of Alpha Street and Nicol’s Gully Road.
Turbitt says once the medical offices in the Alpha Street building all moved into the new Family Health Team building, they saw an opportunity to expand the business and their product line.
He says he still independently owns the pharmacy, but under the PharmaSave name they have more buying power to buy products at lower cost.
The new building is about two thousand square feet of store front, which Turbitt says allows them to provide a wider array of products to the customer.
That’s a big step up from the 400 to 500 square feet in the Medical Arts Building.
There is an additional six thousand square feet in the building that can be rented out as office or retail space.
Turbitt says customers can still expect the same superior service and knowledge that he feels has made him successful to this point.
Turbitt adds there is still a bit of work being finished, but they are open to the public.
