Saugeen Shores Winterhawk head coach Jim Grieve is stepping down after four seasons as an assistant coach and one as head coach.
During that stretch the Winterhawks have claimed the league championship three times.
Team President Gord Lamont said Grieves steady demeanour will be missed.
Lamont said the search for a replacement is well underway and a potential candidate has been identified.
The Winterhawks expect to make an announcement on a new head coach next month.
Grieve — who hails from Burgoyne — played seven years with the old Sr. A Lakeshore Winterhawks, as well as stints with the Intermediate A Sunocos, the Sr. A Ripley Wolves and the Jr. C Port Elgin Bears.
He has been coaching for 20 years including stints as an assistant coach at the peewee, bantam and midget levels.
