Good news for job seekers wanting to reside in Grey and Bruce counties.
LiveGreyBruce.ca is a new website that aims to match skilled employees with employers in the area.
It is a result of many local businesses coming together in hopes to seek out specific skilled professionals and attracting them to our region.
The website has been in the works for six months and as of Tuesday, June 26th, the site is live.
The official launch of the website took place in Wiarton at Caframo.
Some of the companies involved in the development of LiveGreyBruce.ca are Caframo, Tenneco and Grey Bruce Health Services.
Local companies will post upcoming job opportunities on the website seeking an employee with a certain skill set.
Those looking to move to the area can also create a profile showcasing their abilities.
Both parties will be notified when a suitable match is made.
Gemma Mendez Smith is the Executive Director of the Four County Labour Market Planning board, and one of those involved in getting the site operational.
She says the job market is positive here and this will help in attracting skilled professionals to the area.
Smith notes there aren’t hundreds of jobs here – but specific jobs.
She wants tourists to realize we exist as a place to work – we’re not just a place to come and visit
The end goal of the website is to successfully recruit those who wish to live, work, and play in Grey Bruce and match them with gainful permanent employment in the area.
