The families of Michael and Kathryn Rogers have released a statement — two weeks after the couple was found murdered in their Craigleith home.
It says the families are “struggling to understand something so incomprehensible” and how their death “stand in complete contrast to the way they lived their lives.”
The families say Mike and Kathy possessed endless supply of love, compassion and generosity.
The bodies of 55 year old Kathryn Dawn Rogers and her husband, 56 year old Michael Dean Rogers, were found by OPP officers at their home on Wednesday June 6th.
Michael’s younger brother, 48 year old Adam Rogers, was killed in a car crash on Highway 26 about 24 hours after he learned of his brother’s death.
In a second statement, the Rogers family says Adam was struggling to comprehend the shocking news of the murder — and he was a proud and private man who cared for his family.
The families thank the OPP for their sensitivity and diligent work in the two cases.
The families also ask for privacy to deal with the tragic deaths.
No suspects have been named or arrested in the deaths of Michael and Kathryn Rogers, and police have been very tight lipped about the investigation into the deaths.
Police also say they’re treating the crash that killed Adam Rogers as a separate case.

Statement from the family of Adam Rogers of Barrie, ON
The family of Adam Rogers wish to express their profound sadness at the sudden loss of their beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and nephew. Adam died unexpectedly in a fatal automobile accident on June 8, 2012 near Barrie, Ontario. Like all of us, at the time of his accident Adam was struggling to comprehend the shocking news given to him only 24 hours earlier about the death of his older brother Michael, and sister-in-law Kathryn, of Blue Mountain. Their bond was born in youth of mutual affection, support, and respect.
Adam was a proud and private man who cared for his family, enjoyed motorcycles, and engaged in a range of outdoor recreational activities. We will all deeply miss Adam.
Heartfelt thanks to our many family, friends and co-workers whose prayers and expression of support are sustaining us through this difficult time.
Our family wish the other driver involved in the collision with Adam a full and speedy recovery.
Wed like to thank the Ontario Provincial Police for their sensitivity, professionalism, and diligent efforts. We know that you are doing all you can to understand these horrible events.
Finally, we request that the media and others outside our community of family and friends respect our privacy during the period of grief. Please respect our desire for a private funeral and celebration of Adams life. No additional interviews, comments, photographs or other images will be granted directly by the family.
