This is a tremendous week and weekend for lacrosse in Owen Sound and beyond.
The highlight event is the annual Harry Kazarian Memorial Minor Lacrosse Tournament which begins tomorrow and will utilize 5 buildings in the region to stage the divisional matches, all of which climaxes with the divisional championship games at the JD McArthur Arena.
Meanwhile, tonight the Owen Sound Bluewater ProTeam NorthStars play their final home game of the regular season when they host the Elora Mohawks. After a thrust in midseason to contend for a playoff spot, the NorthStars have struggled of late and been eliminated from playoff consideration.
Still, a match tonight against a divisional rival and the season finale on Saturday at Sarnia will tell you everything about the character and commitment of the players going forward.
And finally, the Owen Sound Quantum Properties NorthStars have a pair of games this weekend too; late tomorrow night at Sarnia and then at home Saturday night against Huntsville, sandwiched in the middle of the Kazarian Tournament.
For the Senior NorthStars the game tomorrow against the Beavers and then Saturday at home to Hawks represents a chance for them to break from the log jam in the middle of the standings and put some serious heat on the leaders.
Minor Lacrosse, Junior & Senior NorthStars- enjoy the next four days of lacrosse in the city and region
