Liquor Lovers — you will be out of luck next Tuesday in Owen Sound.
The old LCBO store will close at 9 PM on Monday May 14th and officials will move into the new store on 9th Avenue and 16th Street East on Tuesday.
Anyone wanting to purchase liquor on Tuesday will have to go to a nearby store in Wiarton, Meaford, Chatsworth, Port Elgin OR Sauble Beach.
On Wednesday May 16th) — Mayor Deb Haswell will be joined by the President and CEO of the LCBO, Bob Peter, and Store Manager Brent Douglas for the official opening of the new store.
The ceremony begins at 9:30 AM and after that — the new 12 thousand square foot Liquor store will be open for business.
It will have over eight thousand square feet of display space or about 50 per cent more than in the old store on 2nd Avenue East.
There will be over 26 hundred products available, with a large Ontario wine section.
The store will also have a large walk-in beer cold room with a wide range of beers and ready to drink cocktails and coolers.
