A rap music video featuring oldtimer hockey players from the Flesherton area is on the verge of being completed.
” Tool Belt ” is a rap song dealing with the lives of blue collar workers which used the Flesherton Kinplex and the Moggie Saw Mill among its shoot locations.
Singer-actor-director Mike Copeman is very enthused about the video aspect of the song which was shot in early February.
Copeman relates he received tremendous assistance from the municipality of Grey Highlands and from assorted industry friends in the production of the video.
Overall, Copeman states the project cost just under 30 thousand dollars to produce.
But he says without the assistance and favours he received, the final tally would have been in the neighbourhood of 100 thousand dollars.
Barry Neil is the “star” of the shoot — he’s the father of Chris Neil of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators.
The project is scheduled to finish today and the premiere is scheduled for June 30th at the Markdale Golf Club which also will serve as a fundraiser for ” Dusk Dances-Flesherton “.
Copeman also plans to pitch the video to the Toronto International Film Festival, Sundance and Bravo TV for their movie shorts segment
