The OFSAA ” A-AA ” Hockey Championships begin today and run through the week.
The Girls Championship begins today at Belleville while the Boys Championship Tournament starts tomorrow at Peterborough.
The Bluewater Athletic Association will be represented by the Kincardine District Knights in both tournaments.
In the Girls Tournament at Belleville, the Lady Knights will try and shed their bridesmaid image having lost the Bluewater Final to West Hill and the CWOSSA Final to Our Lady of Lourdes
In both cases, the Kincardine girls claim that they had good performances, just bad fortune in the respective final
Over the next two days the Lady Knights will meet in sequence E.L Crossley, St Paul, Ridgetown & finally Notre Dame.
A top 2 finish in Pool B will allow Kincardine to advance to the quarterfinals which commence on Thursday
Meanwhile the Bluewater & CWOSSA Champion boys team from Kincardine starts play tomorrow with a game against Glendale
Thursday, Kincardine will face off with St Martin & Holy Cross
And Friday morning, the Knights conclude play in Pool E when they meet Fort Francis.
If Kincardine is as successful at OFSAA as they’ve been in Bluewater and CWOSSA, they’ll advance to the quarterfinals Friday afternoon.
