We’ve got some big hockey games tonight in the region and for teams from the region.
In the Ontario Hockey League, the Owen Sound Attack are at Kitchener to face the Rangers.
Kitchener is third in the Western Conference, and quite likely will stay there for the duration of the regular season.
Owen Sound, by comparison, comes into the match tonight in 5th, looking to jump over Sarnia in 4th, but also mindful that Windsor, Saginaw & Guelph are still in the neighbourhood.
While the Attack are on the road tonight, the Harry Lumley-Bayshore will be active with the Greys hosting Brantford in the Midwestern Junior B league.
Can the Greys upset Brantford again and pull even with the Kitchener Dutchmen for the final playoff spot ?
In the Western Junior C League, a very interesting game tonight at Hanover between the regular season champion Walkerton Hawks and the Barons who are in a huge dogfight for 2nd
Moving to Senior Hockey, the top 2 teams in the North face off at the Plex in Port Elgin tonight as the first place Winterhawks host the Durham Thundercats
There are Senior games tonight at Shallow Lake & at Walkerton.
And finally in Collingwood, the Atoms will be honored tonight at the Eddie Bush for winning the Silver Stick Championship prior to their playoff game against Owen Sound.
Enjoy the hockey & enjoy the weekend
I’m Fred Wallace
