Danny Seymour skated in Port Elgin with the Saugeen Shores Skating Club, and also had stints in Kincardine and with the Owen Sound Skating Club.
Somewhere along the line, somebody who knows a skater when they see one, suggested Danny was capable of better-than-average results in the sport, and directed him to the Mariposa School of Skating at Barrie.
In fairly short order, Seymour was partnered with Lauren Collins, and with significant work, the tandem of Collins & Seymour now find themselves as the Canadian Figure Skating Champions in Novice Ice Dance.
Last week at Moncton, New Brunswick the team of Collins and Seymour skated to music from Cirque du Soleil & to ” Make ‘Em Laugh ” from ” Glee “.
Along with the music, the costumes they wore were truly unique as Seymour & Collins dressed like performance clowns and between the skills and the visuals they claimed the title.
When you think of clowns, you generally think of laughter, but as Danny Seymour explained this week, there was more crying than laughing involved……..
Congratulations to Danny Seymour of Port Elgin & partner Lauren Collins, Canada’s Novice Ice dance Champions
