Lystek’s controversial Waste to Fertilizer plant is not causing concern for everyone in Southgate.
One resident Ian Furlong tells Bayshore Broadcasting News it will lead to job growth in the community.
Furlong feels other residents who oppose the project need to sit back and review both sides of the story.
Some residents have expressed concerns of increased traffic activity on their roads, and the smell from the close proximity of the site.
Furlong says Council and Lystek should address the concerns.
The company is opening an office in Dundalk in the new year to help better explain the project.
Southgate Council made a difficult decision by approving the site plan.
The company can now apply for a permit to build on the site — and still must get approval from the Ministry of Environment.
