There are some big changes to garbage in West Grey.
Starting December 16th, garbage bag tags in West Grey will cost two dollars each.
That’s a full dollar more than the current price.
Additionally, garbage will be picked up every second week in all of West Grey, including Durham.
The municipality is encouraging residents to use the curbside pick-up, to reduce the cost of bin rental and bin unloading at the landfill sites.
Starting in the New Year, a 10 dollar minimum fee will be charged at the landfill for things like household waste, furniture, and construction materials.
Styrofoam, electronic waste, recyclables, scrap metal, tires and clean burning wood will be free to drop off at the landfill.
