The Owen Sound Attack are at Barrie tonight to go against the Colts in the Ontario Hockey League
Two years ago, Owen Sound went to Barrie on New Year’s Eve.
At the time, Barrie was on a terrific 22 game winning streak, a highlight in a season that saw them advance to the OHL Final for the the third time in Colts franchise history.
And the Attack, who would eventually miss the playoffs that season, snapped the Colts winning streak with a 6-4 win that night.
Now in fairness, Barrie was a tad shorthanded that night, missing Burmistrov, Della Rovere and Strome who were all at international events.
Strome would depart Barrie in short order as the Colts bulked up for a stretch run with a deal with the IceDogs
Jason Wilson was the star that night for Owen Sound, scoring twice. He too would be bound for Niagara but not quite as quickly
It’s funny when you look at the names involved and the fate that followed.
Barrie, made a run, Owen Sound missed the playoffs, but over the last two years, the Attack have won 10 straight head to head with Barrie.
Can they make it 11 in a row tonight ?
I’m Fred Wallace
