An Owen Sound lawyer has been appointed a judge.
Clayton Conlan was one of five people appointed to the Superior Court of Justice by Attorney General and Justice Minister Rob Nicholson on Friday.
Conlan will replace retired Justice Robert Thompson immediately.
Conlan has been practicing law since 2000 and has been a lawyer with Kirby, Robinson, Treslan and Conlan in Owen Sound since 2001.
Conlan has also been the Director of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association for Grey and Bruce Counties since 2001.
He is a founding member and current president of the Grey County Criminal Lawyers’ Association and president of the Grey County Law Association.
Conlan also managed the provincial election campaign of Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker.
