A new organization is taking shape in Grey and Bruce counties that is dedicated to ensuring the best for children and youth in the community.
Known as “Bruce Grey Child and Family Services” — it is replacing the two separate Children’s Aid societies in the counties.
Amalgamation is already underway, and Executive Director Phyllis Lovell says everything should be finalized by April 1st, 2012.
Lovell says amalgamating the two societies into one organization gives them some efficiencies they would not have as separate organizations.
The new amalgamated society will be headquartered in Owen Sound but will continue with satellite offices in Walkerton and Wiarton.
Lovell adds no jobs are being lost due to the amalgamation.
