I’m here to tell you as a sports destination, or as a destination in general, the city of Boston is hard to beat.
The Sunday Mourning Hockey League Players Association annual NHL junket was slated for Boston this year.
Following previous trips to Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Detroit, and who could ever forget the classic neutral site visit to Hamilton in the early 90’s, Boston had a very tough series of acts to follow.
But Boston not only passed the test, it established new highs in a variety of categories.
First, believe it not, the SMHLPA circus was highly impressed with the Duck Boat Tour of historical Boston and something I’d recommend to any visitor, sports fan or otherwise.
There was also a great one hour tour of historic Fenway Park/
Fenway is about to celebrate its 100th birthday and the tasteful renovations with a throwback era theme has been designed to last for another 50 years
And the TD Garden, home of the Bruins and the Celtics ( when they’re not on strike ), is both a palatial entertainment centre and an unbelievable sports museum and more rolled into one.
There was nothing about Boston that disappointed, other than the compete level of the Buffalo Sabres against the Bruins.
