The Toronto Blue Jays wrap up their season tomorrow at Chicago, hopelessly out of it- again.
Here’s the resume;
1992 & 1993 won the World Series. Remember that ?
1994, 16 games out.
1995, 30 games back.
1996, 18 behind.
1997, trailed by 22 games
1998, 26 games back
1999, 14 behind
Turn of the century, turn of fortunes, Year 2000, just 4 & 1/.2 back
2001, back by 16 games
2002, 25 & 1/2 out
2003, 15 behind the leader
2004, a miserable 33 & 1/2 games back
In 2005, trailing by 15
2006, 10 down
2007, 13 GBL
2008, 11 away
In 2009, the Blue Jays were 28 back
2010, 11 in arrears.
And this year, another year in which they are double digits back of the divisional champions.
Eighteen years, no division championships, only once were they in contention by September.
Yes, I understand there are factors, I recognize the Yankees and Boston have more cash and political clout, but do you see a championship team evolving in T.O. ?
Maybe next year,…….
