Owen Sound Joe Tomato’s Dynamo lost 3-1 to Innisfil Greyhounds in Simcoe County Senior Soccer league action on Sunday in Innisfil.
Tristan Leming scored the lone goal for Owen Sound.
Eric Lewis, Brady Skene and Brandon Twining scored to lead the Owen Sound Food Basics Dynamo to a 3-1 victory over the Taxandria Falcons in London & District Youth Soccer League U18 Boys action Saturday.
The win moves Owen Sound into a tie for first place with Cambridge.
Brandon Twining now leads the league in scoring with ten goals.
The Owen Sound tamminglaw.com Stingers went into Orangeville Saturday to play a doubleheader and left with 6 points and sole possession of 2nd place in the SWRSL U14 boys L5 division.
The Stingers did not allow a goal , blanking Orangeville 2-0 in game 1 and 9-0 in game 2
Devin Machina had the shutout in game one and shared the shutout with Joel Delleman in game two.
League scoring leader Ryan Baerg added 6 more goals to his season total, while Simon Petersen and Klaas Antuma each had a pair.
James Brunke had the other goal for the Stingers.
The Owen Sound Martins Transit Gunners lost to Cambridge B at the Kiwanis Soccer Complex on Saturday July 30th by a score of 4-2, marking the end of a 14 game unbeaten streak.
Singles from Striker Bobbie Ultee and Centre Midfielder Jordan Smith tied the match at half but a motivated Cambridge squad overwhelmed Owen Sounds defences and found the Gunners net twice more in the second half to seal the deal.
Later in the same day the Gunners won by forfeit against the Puslinch Predators who opted for a technical 3 0 loss rather than face off against the 1st place Gunners with a shorthanded squad.
Saturdays win and loss keep the Gunners in 1st place in the U12 division of SWRSL with 28 pointsthree ahead of 2nd place Waterloo.
The Gunners take a 2 week hiatus from regular season play during which they will travel Elmira to participate in the Woolwich Invitational tournament August 6th and 7th.
Regular season play resumes on August 15th against the Woolwich Wolfpack in Elmira. Game time 6:45pm.
