The Thornbury Village Cidery is under new management.
The cidery — which has been in operations since 2007 — has been purchased by Beer Barons, a craft beer company.
The brewery will continue to be run Doug Johnston, using the same equipment and production processes.
Beer Barons will modify the original cider brand by introducing a new formula.
Thornbury Premium Cider has been available across Ontario in LCBO stores since July 3rd.
The new cider will contain 5.3 per cent alcohol with 167 calories per 341 millilitre bottle and will be made with local ingredients.
Troy Taylor — Beer Baron’s National Director of Sales and Marketing — says the cider category is the second fastest growth category at the LCBO.
Taylor says it’s a market the Beer Barons were anxious to get involved in.
