The Owen Sound Attack have come to a decision on who will replace Mark Reeds as coach of the Ontario Hockey League Champions…..
Or at least, that’s what I think.
For their part, General Manager Dale DeGray says there is no decision, certainly nothing formalized and nothing to announce.
I think the decision is made, and has been made for days, and now it’s the waiting for confirmation phase from the candidate.
Whether it’s player evaluation, trades or any given aspect of the position, Dale DeGray does nothing in haste.
Information in every case is assembled, examined, referenced, cross checked and then sometimes the whole process is duplicated.
He’s careful, he’s cautious, he’s conservative and in every matter wants to make the right decision.
But I think, after a month, he’s done and I think he’s made his decision on who takes over in Owen Sound.
I think he’s estblished a shortlist, done a once over, and re-established the short list with a distinct order of preference and now…..he’s waiting.
So there’s no coach to announce today.
Maybe nothing tomorrow.
But by this time next week, maybe sooner, there will be a new coach for the Attack
I’m Fred Wallace ( I think )
