1.6 Million Dollar Clubhouse Renovation Approved
Saugeen Golf Club would like to take this opportunity to update the community on a project that will be taking place this coming fall/winter here at the Saugeen Golf Club. At a certificate holder meeting, held on Monday May 30th, 2011, the approval of a 1.6 Million dollar renovation project to be done on our current clubhouse structure was passed. The Saugeen Golf Club has been serving the Saugeen Shores Community since 1925, and believes that this project will help to serve the community at an even higher level of service excellence for years to come.
The following is an overview of the changes that will be occurring through the renovation of our facility.
o Addition of Upper Level Washrooms
o Addition of Elevator for Accessibility
o Creation of a Banquet Hall to seat up to 280 patrons
o Addition of an Upper Level Patio overlooking the golf course
o New Modern look, interior and exterior
o New Entrance Area
o New Peaked Roof
o New Banquet Kitchen & Storage Facilities
o New Lower level addition of the foyer area and storage rooms
o New Lower level bar & grill restaurant
o New Lower level covered patio area
o New Grill Kitchen and Half-Way House
Some of the key features in the proposed layout for renovation will provide the necessary additions such as the elevator and upper level washrooms to accommodate all of the community patrons that utilize Saugeen Golf Club for the numerous events that are held at SGC throughout the year. By creating a larger space in the banquet hall for events of up to 280 partrons, accompanied by a smaller bar & grill restaurant setting on the lower level, two separate spaces will now be made available for events and daily service.
The clubhouse will remain open throughout the 2011 golf season, and will close early fall to begin the construction process, financing and tendering permitting.
