The Welcome Wagon is coming to Hanover.
Area Manager Anja Gangur is hopeful local merchants will get on board and partner with the business.
She says the Welcome Wagon provides merchants with a powerful marketing tool.
By donating a gift or a coupon, she says business owners are increasing the foot traffic into their storefronts.
The Town of Hanover is also getting involved.
It will provide brochures about its recreation and civic programs along with, garbage and recycling collection times and fire and police information.
Gangur says the Welcome Wagon provides a great opportunity to welcome new residents to town and promote local business.
But it’s not just new residents that will benefit.
Gangur says the Welcome Wagon also provides baskets to new parents, brides to be and new business owners.
Gangur says many mistake the Welcome Wagon as a volunteer organization, when it is in fact a business that is based on service.
She says the Welcome Wagon provides merchants with a unique advertising opportunity all done through a friendly visit and a basket full of goodies.
These baskets contain a wide variety of items such as a bottle of shampoo from a hair salon along with a coupon for a free hair cut, a tooth brush from a dentist with a note that they are accepting new patients or a gift certificate for a local hardware store.
