The Windsor Spitfires and Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors have taken 1-0 leads in their OHL Conference Semifinal Series after victories on Friday night.
In the West — Jack Campbell stopped 28 shots as his Spitfires shut down the Saginaw Spirit 3-0.
Stephen Johnston, Nick Ebert and Kenny Ryan scored for Windsor.
Mavric Parks was busy for Saginaw, stopping 40 of 43 shots.
Game 2 is Sunday afternoon in Windsor.
In ther East — the top ranked Majors exploded for eight straight goals to win 8-5 over the seventh seed Sudbury Wolves.
Seven different Majors scored goals — and Devante Smith-Pelly scored twice.
JP Anderson made 25 saves with his playoff shutout streak ending at an impressive 249 minutes and 11 seconds.
Game 2 of the series will be played Sunday night in Sudbury.
