Conservative MP Larry Miller is hitting the ground running as he tries to secure re-election in the riding of Bruce – Grey Owen Sound.
Miller hosted a meet at greet at his new campaign office in downtown Owen Sound on Thursday.
Miller says he is disappointed an early election has been called, but he says the opposition made it clear they planned on taking down the Tories no matter what.
For this campaign, Miller says he is focused on continued economic recovery, and feels the Conservatives helped pull Canada out of the recession in much better shape than most countries.
Other issues on the table include a tax credit for volunteer firefighters, increases to guaranteed income supplements for seniors, and tax incentives for caregivers of sick family members.
Miller says he plans to run a clean campaign and won’t attack rival candidates, but will defend himself if someone takes a run at him.
The federal election is set for May 2nd.
