Did you know that Sunday is ” Hockey Day in America ” ?
It is.
And to celebrate we’re heading to Buffalo to see the Sabres Sunday afternoon as they host Alex Ovechkin & the Washington Capitals
Should be a good game, sure to be a good time.
I’ve mentioned many times, I highly endorse Buffalo as an NHL destination for locals who too often get shutout or simply can’t afford tickets to see the Greatest team in Hockey, the perpetually playoff challenged, Toronto Maple Leafs.
Many have told me it’s not so much Buffalo, but rather the Niagara Frontier and the many Canadians in Buffalo that makes the Sabres such a fun experience.
And that could be accurate.
As Canadians we look on perplexed, and sometimes wonting, at empty buildings on Long Island, in Atlanta, Miami and St Petersburg and elsewhere and quizzically ask, ‘ how come they don’t get it ? ‘
Hockey is a great game as every Canadian knows.
As part of the ” Hockey Day in America ” , we’re going to spend an extra day on Canadian Family Day Monday and take in the Kitchener Rangers game at the Hershey Center against St Mike’s, truly a great matchup.
Do you think the Canadians in Mississauga will fill that venue to a larger percentage than the hockey ignoramus’ on Long Island, Atlanta & Florida ?
I’m Fred Wallace
