It’s a life sentence with no chance at parole for 16 years for a man from Thornbury who shot to death his son in law three years ago in Collingwood.
61 year old James Leone of Thornbury pleaded guilty in Newmarket court to second degree murder in the shooting death of D’Arcy Molloy.
Leone said he was very involved in a heated custody dispute between his daughter and Molloy, who were separated.
It was November 2007 Leone shot Molloy five times in the back killed as Molloy installed storm windows at his house on Napier Street in Collingwood.
Police caught Leone as he crawled toward his vehicle.
The judge in case called the shooting vicious and cowardly.
The child at the centre of the dispute is now six years old.
