It’s Municipal Election Day, so I hope everyone does their civic duty and exercises their right to vote today.
Keep an open mind.
Speaking of which, I’m not always the most open minded, when I like something, or when I don’t like something, it’s hard to sway me.
Take writer Al Strachan.
I was never a big fan of his print work, and certainly his TV spot on Hockey Night in Canada generally elicited a channel changing reaction.
So you can imagine the derision that was heaped upon my supervisor when he placed Strachan’s book, ” I Am NOT Making This Up ” on my desk this week.
………but I picked it up.
………and I read a snippet.
Then another snippet, then I went to the front and read it start to finish.
I’m not prepared to say I admire Al Strachan or his book was opinion altering, but I give Strachan credit for an interesting sequence of hockey related stories, plus some definite insights into covering hockey and how it evolved through the years.
I Am NOT Making This Up. I liked it.
