An inmate appeal has been filed, by a man convicted of molesting two boys in a Wiarton playground 10 years ago.
63 year old Timothy Wayne Veysey was found guilty of sexually assaulting two teens back in 2000, while threatening them with a knife.
That conviction was in March of 2008 and in July of this year, Supreme court justice Robert Thompson in Owen Sound, declared Veysey a dangerous offender.
Veysey remains behind bars but is appealing the judges’ designation.
An official with the Ontario court of Appeal in Brampton says Veysey filed his appeal July 14th, 2010.
They are now waiting for a transcript of his original trial in 2008, and a transcript of the hearing on the dangerous offender designation, held this summer.
No date has been set for his appeal to be heard. The Court can decide not to hear the appeal at all.
Defence Lawyer Wayne Lalonde says the dangerous offender designation means Veysey faces an indefinite term in prison, which could be life be behind bars.
Lalonde is not involved in the appeal.
