Has Orangeville ever sent a thank you card to Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse ?
It’s been a pretty solid week of lacrosse news and notes on the local front.
The Woodsmen won the Silver Medal at the Presidents Cup in Burnaby, BC.
Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse had a terrific wrap up awards night at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Center on Tuesday.
Plus, the Orangeville Northmen, with exceptional contributions from Owen Sound Minor lacrosse grads Adam Jones and Robbie Hellyer have advanced to the Championship Final series at the Minto Cup in Coquitlam, B.C.
Orangeville has been a perennial contender in Junior A Lacrosse both provincially and nationally for years, and in no small part, because they’ve been able to acquire exceptional Juniors from Owen Sound.
Bryan Kazarian, the McLeod Brothers, Travis Gibbons, they’re among those who paved the road to Orangeville; a road that Jones and Hellyer are now travelling.
The other night at the Minto Cup in a 15-12 loss against the host Coquitlam Adanacs, Jones, who might be the best lacrosse player ever from Owen Sound, had 8 points and Hellyer, who I assume is the best player from Lion’s Head, combined for 15 points.
Did Orangeville thank Owen Sound ?
Will Orangeville thank Owen Sound if they go on to win a third straight Minto Cup ?
