Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse is holding their year end awards night this evening at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Center.
There were 8 teams that represented Owen Sound at home and abroad and tonight the teams and players will celebrate their successes, both with hardware and with rich reminiscing about the season gone by.
The real treat that I’m looking forward to is the guest speaker.
As MC, the Minor Lacrosse Group asked if I would introduce the speaker this evening; Jim Moss.
And I’ll do it, but in fairness, I doubt that I’ll have enough time to do a proper job.
Certainly the minute or so I’m granted here on a daily basis is far too minimal to do Jim Moss justice.
Where would you start ?
With hockey ?
With lacrosse ?
Or with the far greater story of challenge that Jim faces on a daily basis and the small but consistent victories he’s posted over the past year ?
It’s a night to reward young lacrosse players for improvement, dedication and sportsmanship.
But if the players and adults are listening closely, I’ll bet the biggest reward will be delivered in the speakers message.
