It’s a big day for Sauble Speedway and a busy day for retired Nascar Sprint Cup Series star Sterling Marlin.
Tonight, Sauble Speedway conducts their second and final ” Dash for Cash ” event and Marlin is the feature attraction, scheduled to compete in the 50 lap Late Model race tonight.
The field for the race is expected to be full, and why not ?
Wouldn’t every driver at the Grassroots level want to match skills with a Nascar Rookie of the Year from yesteryear and a guy whose resume is far larger than the track he’ll race on tonight.
And while the field is full, so too is Marlin’s Day.
He’s expected to land mid-afternoon in Owen Sound and have quick ” Meet & Greets ” at Cottenie’s Meats & Kerr Smart Energy.
He’ll head to Sauble for late afternoon testing with the gates opening at 5 pm this afternoon.
From 6 to 6:45 pm, Marlin will be center stage for an autograph session and fans are advised to bring their cameras.
Without Grassroots racing, there would be no big time, so it’s tremendous to see a huge star like Sterling Marlin come to Sauble Speedway for the ” Dash for Cash ” tonight.
