After four years of extensive renovations, the historic Williamsford Mill, south of Owen Sound, is now open for business as a book store and Cafe.
Peter and Tamara Bolton says it was a labour of love to convert the mill which now contains a book store on the second level and cafe on the ground floor.
Bolton admits when they first purchased the building they had no idea of the extent of renovations the structure needed.
He says the entire interior had to be gutted and completely re built from the ground floor right up to the roof.
Bolton says its estimated the total cost of the renovations was in the 400 thousand dollar range.
He says this is the fourth 100 year plus building he has restored, and feels the residents of Williamsford appreciate his efforts to being the historic structure back to life.
Bolton says its important to preserve these old building which give the community a sense of the past and how it reflects on the present.
He says many people these days would rather tear down an old building than try to preserve it and that he feels is the wrong attitude.
The official grand opening of the renovated Williamsford Mill takes place on Sunday at 12 Noon.
It is located on Highway 6, in Williamsford, south of Owen Sound.
