Students in southern Grey Bruce are active.
The top three schools in this year’s ‘Turn Off the Screens’ challenge are from the southern part of the region.
They are Dundalk and Proton Community School, Sullivan Community School and Lucknow Community School.
Almost 12 hundred students took part in the 8th annual contest from April 26th to May 2nd this year.
They turned off the television, computer and video games and accumulated 30 hours of physical activity for the week.
Stats from Active Healthy Kids Canada show 87 per cent of kids are not meeting physical activity guidelines.
The report says many kids spend 4 to 6 hours infront of a screen each weekday.
