The Liberals are asking the ethics commissioner to investigate Natural Resources Minister Christian Paradis.
They want her to determine whether Paradis used his position to advance a business proposal from former Tory M-P Rahim Jaffer.
The minister admitted earlier this week that Jaffer called him last August to discuss a proposal to install solar panels on top of federal government buildings.
Paradis passed Jaffer on to bureaucrats.
An aide later pressured officials in the deputy minister’s office to meet Jaffer, the husband of former cabinet minister Helena Guergis — the M-P for Simcoe Grey.
