Grey – Bruce and Simcoe Counties have always been a hub of artisans.
Now the first ever juried art show at the Meaford Hall Arts and Cultural Centre will showcase the best of submitted art.
Leslie Bochna — the Marketing and Programming Coordinator — says she is overwhelmed at the amount of talent in the area and expects the show to be a real showcase of talent from the area.
The pieces are juried – or chosen – by watercolour artist – Merv Richardson from Barrie.
Richardson has chosen the pieces that range from watercolour to oil to photography for the show and about 30 pieces in total have been chosen.
Bochna says this is a perfect time to showcase local artists at the hall as they are going into another sold out concert at the hall and this will be an excellent opportunity for people to see the artists work.
Bochna says this is a key event in the galleries which has an ever changing exhibit of artists from both inside and outside the local area.
She sees this show continuing for years to come as there are many local artists to be seen.
The grand opening of the exhibit is today at the hall from 2 PM until 4 PM.
The exhibit can be viewed daily at the hall and runs until June 26th.
