The Wayne Gretzky Foundation is giving back to the Blue Mountains.
The community that has hosted the Ford Wayne Gretzky Golf Classic for the last two years has received a two year donation of 15 thousand dollars.
The money comes from the Gretzky Foundation.
Executive Director Glen Gretzky says the money will go to the Beaver Valley Athletic Association’s minor hockey program.
Gretzky says they will purchase some hockey equipment and also cover registration fees for children ages 5 to 12 who want to play hockey for the first time.
Gretzky says the foundation is proud to give something back to the community that has opened its arms for the past two years.
Gretzky adds their mission is to continue putting kids in the game.
Earlier this year the Wayne Gretzky Foundation donated a defibrillator to the Blue Mountains Tomahawk Recreation Complex.
The third annual Ford Wayne Gretzky Golf Classic is set to be held again this summer at the Raven at Lora Bay and the Georgian Bay Club from July 5th to the 11th.
