The Elmwood Fire Department is putting their culinary skills to the test, as they host their annual ‘All You Can Eat Firemen’s Breakfast’ from 7:30 AM till 11:30 AM.
Elmwood’s 22 volunteer firefighters have been up since the crack of dawn preparing to feed the masses as close to 500 people are expected to attend.
Firefighter and cook extraordinaire Carl Frook promises a meal to delight the palate.
The meal includes scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries, coffee and juice.
It’s 7 dollars for adults and 3 dollars for children 12 and under.
All proceeds from the breakfast will go towards future fire department equipment purchases.
This year the department would like to upgrade their single auto extrication hydraulic pump to a 3 stage pump — which is a 75 hundred dollar purchase.
Along with raising money, Frook says the morning provides the fire department with a chance to intermingle with the public in a casual manner.
Breakfast isn’t the only thing on the menu in Elmwood today.
Elmwood is also hosting its annual wide community yard sale today.
