Antique tractors will slowly make their way through competition in Paisley.
The Bruce County Heritage Farm Association is hosting its second annual “3.5 mile per hour Tractor Pull” today.
Co-ordinator Tom Thede says the tractors have to be from before 1969 and the maximum speed limit in the contest is three and a half miles per hour.
He says it’s a new concept in tractor pulling, as it’s more about skill and driving ability, than weight and power.
Thede says they only trouble they’ve been running into is the weather.
He says the rain has been making it difficult to keep the machines dry, but they’ll do their best to keep them under tarps until the pull.
Thede says the track is also made of thick clay, and it gets very slippery when wet.
He says if the weather co-operates, it will be a successful event.
The tractor pull takes place Saturday at noon, at the Heritage Farm.
It’s located about two kilometres south of Paisley on Bruce County Road 3.
Admission is five dollars, and there will be food and refreshments sold as well.
