The 2010 O.F.S.A.A. Track & Field Championships begin this afternoon at London.
Among the first events on the track is the Open Boys 2,000 metre steeplechase, an event in which Jordan Collison of the Saugeen District Royals will compete in.
Collison has won the steeplechase at the Bluewater meet in Kincardine, set a CWOSSA record at that meet at Kitchener and also set a Regional record in the steeplechase at the West Regional in Windsor.
Will he establish yet another record in the discipline this afternoon ?
Jordan Collison is one of 7 Saugeen District Royals competing at OFSAA.
Caitlyn MacMillan, Evan Porter, Kevin Bowman, Alex Pilar, Kelly Gribbons and Thomas Godwin of the Royals also qualified for OFSAA in their respective events
Cheyenne Hunter from the Kincardine District Knights, Rita Rudell of the Peninsula Shores Phoenix & Mat West from the Walkerton Raiders will also compete at OFSAA this weekend.
There are up to 24 athletes in every event, taking in the best provincial athletes in every corner of Ontario, so you can appreciate the competition is stiff, very stiff.
Still, the belief is that Collison & the 7 Royals along with Hunter, Ruddell & West are all capable of top 10 finishes or better.
