Charges have been laid in connection with one of two weekend fires on the west side of Owen Sound.
Friday’s fire occurred on the second floor of 28th Street West apartment building and started in the kitchen area of the unit.
The fire damage was contained to the kitchen and an extension cord is blamed for the fire.
As a result of the fire the occupant was charged with failure to maintain a smoke alarm in operating condition.
The 4th Avenue West fire occurred on Saturday afternoon and started in the basement.
Wood stored closely to an electric baseboard heater was the cause of that blaze.
No one was hurt in either fire.
