The Saugeen Hawks Cheerleading season is winding down for the year.
The squad recently returned from a national competition in Mississauga and coach Natalie Borsella says they placed 10th.
Borsella says they did well and had fun at the competition.
She says this season has been challenging because they had several new athletes – but they progressed and improved all year.
The Hawks competed in level 3 out of 6 of the co-ed division and completed a 2 and a half minute routine.
Borsella says although this season is just coming to end – They are holding tryouts for the 2010-2011 season shortly.
The season begins in September but tryouts are being held on Sunday May 30th and Sunday June 6th.
They will be at the Huron Shores Gymnastics and Trampoline Club on Highway 21 in Port Elgin.
Borsella says they would like to have a Junior team this year as well for children aged 10-14.
The junior tryouts are from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM and senior tryouts are from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM both days.
Borsella says joining the Saugeen Hawks Cheerleading squad is a real commitment both time and money wise – But there are several fundraising efforts to assist with cost.
