Look up, way up and you will see a lot of aircraft flying over Owen Sound and area this weekend.
More than 60 different types of aircraft will be arriving in the Scenic City Sunday morning as part of the interprovincial air tour which is put together every year by the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association.
Billy Bishop Airport Manager Barry Lewin says this years tour begins in Kingston, then heads up into northeast Quebec, before returning to Ontario and Owen Sound.
He says the aircraft all will be arriving at the airport between 8 AM and 9 AM and it will be interesting to see them arrive, as there is no air traffic control at this facility.
Lewin says it will be up to the pilots to make sure they keep a safe separation and land safely.
He says following breakfast, and a plaque presentation by Mayor Ruth Lovell Stanners, the pilots will visit the Billy Bishop Museum for a tour before leaving later in the day.
Lewin says this event has been growing every year, and the airport will be a very busy place on Sunday.
He says this visit should prove to be a big boost for the Airport as it will show off the facility and the area as well.
Lewin expects a bit of a windfall for the airport as well through the sale of fuel to the departing aircraft.
