It’s yet another chance to celebrate local food in Grey Bruce.
The Grey Bruce Agriculture and Culinary Association is putting on another one of their highly successful Field to Fork Feast which will take place Sunday afternoon at Peninsula Shores District School in Wiarton.
Ann Pickles is one of the organizers and attributes the success of these culinary get to gather to the face people love good food, and really want to support local farmers and producers.
She says there will be 17 different food and beverage tables — serving up everything from trout, bison, wild greens, chicken, veggie burgers, beef burgers, quiche, cheeses, wild cordials, punches prepared to delight the palate.
Pickles says in making this event as environmentally friendly as possible, all the dishes will be served up on edible plates, like crackers, pastry shells or lettuce or spinach leaves.
Ten local chefs, all members of the Grey Bruce Agriculture and Culinary Association will be serving up the food.
In addition there will be a silent auction to help raise funds for the Wiarton Salvation Army food bank, the Arts Program at Peninsula Shores district School and the Agriculture and Culinary association.
Tickets for the event are 20 dollars and can be picked up at the Meaford Chamber of commerce office, The Ginger Press in Owen Sound, Peninsula Shores High School or Fretz Valumart in Sauble Beach.
Pickles says the one disappointment was the lack of interest in their Punchless punch contest where they received only a hand full of entries.
The winner will be announced on Sunday.
